Lewes Area Events

isit Historic Lewes for a weekend packed with activites to delight young and old.  The action begins Friday, October 3rd, with the Merchants' Sidewalk Sales in the downtown commercial areas. (The sales will continue through Sunday.)

Saturday brings the Boast the Coast Maritime Festival to the banks of the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal in the 1812 Park.  Beginning at 10 a.m., there will be seafood tasting presented by local restaurants, children's activites, boat tours and music culminating with the lighted boat parade beginning at dusk.

Be sure to take advantage of the many creative wares that will be on display for purchase at the Annual Fall Craft Show at the Lewes Historical Society's complex at 2nd & Shipcarpenter Streets. The craft show will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Looking for more?  Head out to the Fort Miles Historical Area in Cape Henlopen State Park and take a tour of the of the fort and see the artillery pieces that were used to protect this area and beyond during World War II.   Tours are 2pm - 3:30 p.m.

If art is more to your liking, stop at Stango Park (behind the library) and watch the Cape Artists of Lewes participate in their first ever "en plein air" show.

Make a weekend of it and be refreshed for the University of Delaware's Coast Day on Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
